RAZONES POR LAS QUE DEBEN PROHIBIRSE LOS ANIMALES EN LOS CIRCOS

CRUELDAD EN EL ADIESTRAMIENTO

Métodos de entrenamiento brutalmente violentos (palizas, golpes, descargas eléctricas, latigazos, pinchazos, etc.).  Los animales obedecen por miedo a ser lastimados y no porque disfruten la actuación  Prueba de ello es que el entrenador siempre está presente y con algún instrumento de castigo.

SU VIDA: UNA PESADILLA HASTA LA MUERTE

	- Viven permanentemente encerrados en jaulas, remolques o cercados y, casi siempre, encadenados y alejados de su familia.
	-Por el miedo, estrés y encierro desarrollan enfermedades mentales que se manifiestan como comportamiento “estereotipado”: moverse de lado a lado en forma obsesiva, golpearse la cabeza, morder los barrotes o automutilarse, etc.
	-Los animales de circos itinerantes padecen enormemente los largos y prolongados viajes y muchos mueren en el camino.  A menudo, los compartimentos en los que son trasladados no cubren ni sus necesidades más elementales para respirar, defecar y orinar, y se hallan bajo condiciones mínimas de luz, clima, comida y agua.
	- A muchos animales se les mata o abandona cuando llegan a viejos o enferman y dejan de ser “productivos”, o bien son vendidos a otros circos (de peor “calidad”), a zoológicos, coleccionistas privados o laboratorios de experimentación.

AMENAZA PÚBLICA

Trabajadores circenses y miembros del público (incluidos niños) han sido atacados e incluso asesinados por animales del circo, durante la función o al tratar de escapar.  Los animales han sido “ejecutados” por su mal comportamiento.

EDUCACIÓN NEGATIVA PARA LOS NIÑOS

	Acostumbrar a los niños a ver a los animales fuera de su hábitat y realizando actos ridículos y ajenos a su naturaleza es educarlos en la mentira.
	Con estos espectáculos se fomenta la tenencia irresponsable de fauna silvestre, así como su comercio ilegal.

ALTERNATIVAS

La oposición al uso de animales en el circo está creciendo a nivel internacional. Países como Finlandia, Austria, Costa Rica, India o Singapur ya lo han hecho. Y también ciudades como Barcelona, Río de Janeiro, Cochabamba y Buenos Aires se niegan a aceptar la entrada de circos que contengan espectáculos con animales.

Existen innumerables alternativas al uso de animales en los espectáculos, como son los números acrobáticos, musicales y humorísticos, que no incorporan animales en sus actuaciones y que permiten el pleno lucimiento del genuino arte circense. ----------------------     REASONS TO NOT HAVING ANIMALS IN CIRCUSES:       1) CRUELTY IN TRAINING        Brutally violent training methods (beating, beating, electric shock, whipping, needles, etc.), are used. Many animals are killed or abandoned when they get old or sick and are no longer "productive", or they're sold to other circuses (with the worst "quality"), zoos, private collectors or experimental laboratories.               2) PUBLIC THREAT Circuses's workers and members of the public (including children) have been attacked and even killed by animals in circuses, during the function or when they try to escape.The animals have been "executed" for their "bad" behavior.                3) NEGATIVE EDUCATION FOR CHILDREN           Introducing kids to see animals out of their habitat and performing ridiculous acts unrelated to their nature, is    educate them in a lie.
